Positive and Negative Measurements
BidScreen XL is capable of measuring both positive and negative areas and lengths. Normally takeoffs are positive - subsequent measurements are added to the total. Negative measurements are subtracted
BidScreen XL is capable of measuring both positive and negative areas and lengths. Normally takeoffs are positive - subsequent measurements are added to the total. Negative measurements are subtracted from the total. To make negative measurements, press the +/- button, 
or select Negative from the Edit Menu or the Popup Menu. The Negative command can be assigned a shortcut key. By default this action is is assigned to the numeric pad - key.
When measuring negative quantities, the label on the quantity being measured will be highlighted in red.
To return to positive measurements, press the +/- button, or select Positive from the Edit Menu or the Popup Menu. The Positive command can also be assigned a shortcut key. By default this action is is assigned to the numeric pad + key.
Note: When measuring negative areas, the areas are subtracted from the area total, but the perimeters are added to the lenght total.
