Styles in BidScreen refer to how a takeoff is displayed on the screen or printer. There are five attributes to a style:
- Line Color
- Line Style - solid, dash, dot-dash, etc.
- Line Width
- Point Style - X, square, cross, circle, etc.
- Fill Pattern - solid, clear, back diagonal, etc.
Line color and width apply to all takeoffs. Point style is only used for counts. Line style is used for lines and areas and fill pattern is only used for areas.
There is one limitation to combinations of the above; when the line width is greater than one, the line style must be solid.
When Use Styles is not enabled, the five attributes are set individually.
If Use Styles is enabled, combinations of the attributes can be predefined and assigned a label. These labels can then be displayed as the takeoff progresses and on printouts of the takeoff. During the takeoff, the attribute combination can be selected by the assigned label from the Styles Menu or by using the Style Palette.
A group of these combinations is called a style set. Style sets can be shared among multiple users.
Style sets can be defined on the setup dialog, or by pressing the Add/Edit/Delete Style
button on the style toolbar.
Note: the last style used will carry over to the next measurement in a new cell.
