What is the true scale factor for English drawings?

For English scales, the true factor is the reciprocal of the scale times 12. A true 1:20 scale has a factor of 240; a true 1/8″ scale has a factor of 96. AutoScale gives the calibrated factor measured from the drawing — compare against the typical scales on the dropdown and snap to the nearest standard if it’s within rounding error.
