Generic CRMs model a sales funnel: lead, qualified lead, opportunity, close. Construction work rarely moves that way. The same customer invites you to bid year after year, each pursuit has a hard bid date, and the record that matters is the history: what you bid, what you won, what the drawings said.
A construction CRM keeps customers, contacts, bids, correspondence, and documents on one record per relationship. The useful questions it answers are construction questions: what is our hit rate with this GC, who did we quote on the last job like this, what did we say in the RFQ.
Pricing in this category is often opaque; several leading construction CRMs are quote-only with no published prices. When comparing, ask for total first-year cost including onboarding, and check whether the product starts at the takeoff or only after a proposal already exists.
