Can I import elevations directly from an AutoCAD DWG file?

Yes. With a DWG file open, the CAD section of the Takeoff toolbar adds an import-from-drawing-into-takeoff command that maps selected layers (contours, points) directly into the takeoff. This is the fastest way to start when the civil engineer’s DWG is available.
